Estate Administration

When most people die, they leave an estate behind. In addition to grieving a loved one's death, survivors have to take some legal and financial steps to secure the deceased person’s estate. Estate administration is the process taken by the survivors or executors to manage and distribute the decedent’s estate.

If the decedent had a will, it has to go through probate proceedings. However, if the decedent had created a trust and transferred their estate into the trust, probate may not be necessary. Often times, estate administration is a complex matter that should be handled by professionals.

As an executor or administrator, in addition to having to deal with a grieving family, you probably have never administered an estate before. At Assurance Elder Law, we have the necessary skills and experience to help both executors and estate beneficiaries navigate complex and often overwhelming estate administration matters. We also provide you with full representation at probate hearings.

Whether you are an executor or a beneficiary, we help you fulfill estate administration responsibilities, including filing the will, securing estate assets, filing tax returns, paying the deceased person’s debts and other pending bills, distributing assets, and filing the final account. We understand that you may still be grieving; hence we step in to ensure you are not overwhelmed by any estate administration-related issues or responsibilities.
